I'll call you

I never understood this, but for some odd reason it's the norm for a man to end a conversation with, “I’ll call you later” or “I’ll call you right back” instead of just being honest and saying, "i'll try to call you later" or “I might call, but I most likely won’t.

My phone was dead, ringer was off/vibrate OR i didn't have signal

I have used the line "my signal was out" a few times, and though it may have sounded like a lie, it wasn't. However... phone lies are pretty common these days with men... as for the old "my phone was dead, off or on vibrate" lie or any other phone lie it all boils down to TWO questions "do i trust this man"? and "is he the type to lie about something like that?" ...hmmmmm, if your GUT tells you his story makes no sense, you're probably right.
