President Obama Supports Gay Marriage

President Obama causing a stir today with his recent interview where he says same sex couples should be able to get married.

A lot of people have mixed feelings about this, some people are happy about it, while others are outraged and saying the President is saying this now just to get gay people to vote for him....

MY THOUGHTS: If you are black and complaining about this... just remember, it wasn't so long ago that we (black people) didn't have a lot of rights. Of all races, we should know better than anyone how important it is for all people to be treated equally.

It's time to stop treating gay people like 2nd class citizens... It's 2012 not 1960. I do believe Gay people deserve to have the same rights as anyone else... why not?

If 2 people love each other and choose to make that commitment, why should there be a law against it? If a gay couple is in a committed relationship for many years and they don't legally get married, if one of them dies or gets seriously ill, the other has no rights at all whatsoever to make decision on what should be done.

Gay people are human beings and deserve to be treated as such just like the rest of us. People should stop being so judgmental.
