FaceTime & Skype Video Chatting Good Or Bad For Relationships?

Written by @DjCocoaChanelle

When it comes to relationships, we all know that seeing each other in person is the best way to bond, but realistically speaking, there has to be other forms of communication for the in-between-times when you are not together physically.

Phone, text and email are good options, but are these options healthy for lasting relationships?

I like talking on the phone & texting, but sometimes it's easy for words to be misinterpreted (both have happened to me before). So whats the solution? Video Chat!!!
"experts say 80% of communication is transmitted through body language and expression. All of this is lost over text or spoken conversation. Text only allows for word choice. Voice only allows for intonation. With FaceTime you can actually see changes in expression; a twinkle in the eyes, a blush along the cheek, subtle smile, a bittersweet glance" (via imore).
I highly co-sign video chat for couples, it brings a different and much better dynamic to your conversation. You can deguise feelings on text and the phone, but with video chat, you can't hide anything.

With FaceTime, Skype or any video chat. You can read the emotion on the persons face and see their body language. It's the next best thing to being in person.

You really can tell if they're genuinely feeling you or not, whereas on the phone or text a person can say "i love you" or "i miss you" while secretly thinking to themselves "kick rocks"!!
